StartupHPC17: Time for an Informal Meetup
StartupHPC17 will be a bit different!
When we started StartupHPC, holding traditional (informal) meetup events seemed like the way to go. But we soon realized that we needed a more structured way of providing a relatively broad educational material. We wanted to cover the gamut: how you form a business entity, what VCs look for, legal and patent strategies, case studies, advice from those who had done it and were doing it, go-to-market planning, hot markets that could use HPC expertise, etc.
So, as we started planning for this year, it seemed like we had a relatively good set of such material, all video taped and organized, thanks to the significant contributions of very stellar speakers and the sponsorship of InsideHPC that helped us capture and post-process the sessions in video format.
For this year, we’d like to do two things:
- Gather informally and have time to network and deepen our friendships.
- Offer private meetings so startups and those who are thinking about entrepreneurship can have the time and privacy to discuss what they need in order to get from point A to point B.
We can then come back and report on progress, hold regional meetups where there is interest, and continue to push on the StartupHPC Champions program and advocate for an HPC oriented fund.
So that’s what you’ll see and we hope to see many of you. Here is the text of the event page. Please register so we know you are coming but feel free to just show up. This is a free no-host gathering and the idea is to be relaxed and network.
Kick-off your SC17 week with the annual StartupHPC17 gathering
HPC And Entrepreneurship
Every day, and the world over, entrepreneurship is becoming a more important “skillset and mindset”. Combine it with your background in HPC, and you have the very rare quality that the emerging digital economy needs.
Free To Attend
This year, we are holding an informal startup meetup.
Private Meetings
Contact us to schedule a private meeting. This is a free service, as well.
If you need general or specific help, these meetings give us time and privacy to discuss things freely and at length and craft a plan that works for you and can help you get from point A to point B.
Entrepreneurs And Those Who Can Help Them
If you can provide informal help or formal services to the startup community, let us know and we will include you in a leaflet given out at the meetup.
If you are interested in entrepreneurship or are trying to grow a startup, stop by and see who can help you accelerate your progress.
Show Up!
Either way, spread the word, stop by, and let’s show the big impact that HPC entrepreneurship can have on the industry.
Resources
Now in its fourth year, StartupHPC-17 focuses on fostering entrepreneurship in the HPC community in order to help apply HPC expertise to all markets.
Video clips of previous events are available to all visitors.
